Losar is the Tibetan word for New Year, Lho means year or age and Sar means new or fresh. So, Lhosar means the beginning of new era. Losar is the important holiday in Tibet, Nepal and Bhutan celebrated for 15 days with the main celebrations on the first three days.
In Nepal tamang community celebrate Losar on the first day of new moon or in other words the next day after the no-moon day of month of Magh. The festival is on Magh 26, 2072 and February 09, 2016.
