Monsoon in Nepal - is it worth visiting


Monsoon season is not the favorable season for high passes trekking as the trekking route is slippery, chances of landslides and flood and flights are not regular. But there are some trekking routes that is highly recommended to those who do not have time for other season and want to visit Nepal Himalayas. Upper Mustang Trek is recommended for monsoon season as it lies inside rain shadow area. Upper Mustang region and Dolpo region are less affected by monsoon as compared to other trekking regions. The trekking areas Everest Region, Annapurna Region, Langtang Region, Manaslu Region are affected by monsoon. Flights are not regular due to weather changes. If you are planning for Nepal Trekking, you can do 6-7 days short and easy treks to the popular trekking regions of Nepal. Tours in Nepal are not affected by monsoon. Cultural sightseeing, mountain biking tours, hiking tours and wildlife safari tour can be done during monsoon season with very less risk. Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, Lumbini, Nagarkot, Dhulikhel, Bhaktapur, Patan, Tansen, Gorkha, Daman and Bandipur are some popular destinations for tours in Nepal.
