Rajan Simkhada, president of Earthbound Expeditions, has been selected to represent Nepal in the Adventure Travel Show to be held in London on January 23 and 24.
At the show, Simkhada will make a presentation on 'Nepal Still Trekker's Heaven'. "I will be presenting data and show how tourists have not stopped coming to Nepal after the earthquake," Simkhada told Republica. "I will be promoting Nepal and the various products Nepal has to offer, besides trekking in the mountains, like spiritual tourism, yoga and meditation tourism, and agro tourism, among others."
Data shows around 40,000 trekkers traveled to the Everest region, 70,000 to the Annapurna Base Camp and 10,000 to the Langtang region in 2015.
Stating that 27,827 tourists from the United Kingdom visited Nepal in 2015, Simkhada said that he will also be sharing stories of tourists visiting Nepal after the earthquake and how their experiences were different from what they saw and read through media. "Similarly, I will also promote the NepalNow campaign in London. I will encourage people to visit Nepal and let them feel that Nepal is still safe and ready to welcome them," he added.
