Star hotels in Kathmandu Valley have geared up to entertain guests this Christmas in spite of the ongoing crisis. They, however, do not have special programs to celebrate the event.
"We are not in a mood to organize any special function this year," Annal Kumar Pradhan, public relations executive at Hyatt Regency Kathmandu, said. "We just want to mark the event as our annual program."

Though some hotels have downsized their Christmas celebrations, Durbarmarg-based Hotel Annapurna is expecting more guests this year despite the ongoing fuel crisis. "We have introduced various packages this year with a hope that more people will go out for dinner and lunch compared to last year due to shortage of cooking gas," Suarpana Shahi, assistant manager -- marketing at Hotel Annapurna, said.
The hotel is offering special buffet dinner and lunch respectively on Christmas Eve and Christmas at The Coffee Shop at Rs 2,011 plus taxes. Similarly, The Arniko Room at the hotel is offering set course menu and a special a la carte X-mas menu on Christmas Eve and Christmas day at Rs 2,500 plus taxes.
