The holi festival is one of the most popular festivals in Nepal which falls on the full moon day in the month of Falgun (between February and march). Holi is the festival of color and celebrated as the Fagu Purnima which means festival of red color on the full moon day. Holi is celebrated by using water, color powder and eating delicious foods. This festival is celebrated in Terai next day after the kathmandu valley observes it.
This festival symbolizes as farewell of winter and welcoming autumn/summer season in Nepal. According to English and Nepali Calender of this year, fagu purnima falls in march 20 and 21, 2019 and Chaitra 06 and 07, 2075 respectively. Government of Nepal has announced as the public holidays to celebrate this festival.
